Parent Commissioning Class
What is parent commissioning?
Parent Commissioning is a time for a parent or parents to stand before the church and make a public commitment to do their very best to lead their child to become a follower of Jesus, teaching them to live for God, love all people, and lead others to do the same.
How is this different from baby dedication?
Baby dedication focuses on the child. And while there is something significant acknowledging that the child’s life should be given to God, what will ultimately make a greater difference in the child’s life and faith is not their dedication to God as a child, but the efforts of the parents to train the child to be disciple as they grow up.
How old does my child have to be for me to participate?
As long as your child is still under your authority, you may participate in parent commissioning.
When is parent commissioning?
June 16th here at LifeSpring.
Parents who go through parent commissioning must complete the Parent Commissioning Class on May 19th first. To sign up, please fill out the form below. If you are unable to attend the class but want to participate in this year’s parent commissioning, you can email Pastor Mark and we will set up a time to go over the class content with you individually.
